This past April, I was invited to take family and engagement photos for a wonderful family. We met at Powell Gardens, located just outside of Lee’s Summit. The day was perfect for an outdoor session! The trees were alive with blossoms and the early signs of spring. We started close to the visitor center and slowly worked our way around the gardens, stopping at the lake and the chapel.
My vision for the shoot was to highlight the love of this family and the beauty of their connections. I used the natural light and lushness of the gardens to attention to their warmth and natural beauty, both inside and out.
I could not be more pleased with the results! The shoots felt organic and empowering. I loved seeing the family’s love for one another and sharing in their excitement for their loved ones. Of all of the images shot this day, these two were my favorite, because they are the truest illustration of love to me.
